What an EOI actually means
"We submitted the form. Does that mean he has a trial?"
EOI = Expression of Interest. It means: I want to be considered. It does not mean: I have a trial place or a squad place.

Why the first step exists
Several clubs run an application before an invitation-only trial. Manly Warringah's 2027 junior representative notice states that applying is not a trial place and that only successful applicants are contacted and invited. The Sydney Roosters 2027 female junior representative trials work the same way: applications are open, but attendance depends on a successful application, and selected applicants receive the trial details. A Bulldogs female pathways example shows the same shape, with trial information given to successful applicants.
What the form is really asking
Most forms confirm eligibility first: birth year, age group, current club, and contact details for the parent or guardian. Some ask for playing history. None of that is an assessment. It is how the organiser works out who fits the published criteria.
Before you hit submit
- Correct birth year and age group for the competition
- Application deadline, in your calendar
- Trial date, and whether the player is actually available
- Location and travel, including for follow-up sessions
- What evidence or playing history the form asks for
- How successful applicants will be contacted, and by when
Some opportunities run open trials with no application stage at all. Stage structure, deadlines and notification method are set by the organiser.
